Do I Remember Adult Speak?
I am having a Girl’s Night Out with some women at my church and I was thinking this evening that I don’t remember how to speak adult. I know how to speak to girls, the ages of 6 and 8. But grown ups?
Me, the leader, and all I have in my mind is the latest Dora doll craze, Pet Shops, and the new outfits at Justice. I don’t think women shop at Justice and probably will leave the dolls at home.
I am more nervous about what topics to bring up.
Should I Google the latest topics or maybe even ask my Twitter peeps what to talk about? No, then I would just be talking in 140 characters or less, and in code no less.
I always wanted to be an adult and here I am, being sucked back into childhood.
Does it ever end?
Will I ever quit saying ‘like’ in my sentences? Please Lord, tell me that there will be a day when I don’t know every Miley Cyrus song by heart. Please.
