Sunday – Flip-Flops

I truly believe that there is a science to purchasing the perfect pair of flip-flops, but when you find them the chemistry is magical.
It is a close relationship that should last the whole summer.
It is summer love.
Here are my top 5 flip-flop tips for courting new summer footwear:
- Walkability. No matter how cute they are, if you are sprawled out on the ground after tripping, no one is going to say, “cute shoes”.
- Comfort. They should pass the zoo test…would you wear them to the zoo?
- Attraction. It is impossible to fall in love with an ugly shoe.
- Cleanability. If you aren’t going to be able to get cherry Slurpee off them, you shouldn’t be going home with them.
- A future. You don’t want to be shopping again next week because you ended up with a flip-flop one night stand.
So who will I be seen around town with this summer?
I am a pretty cheap date - Target around $12.

Oh, Holly… you must not know about the awesomeness that is the Reefs.
They are the cadillac of flip flops, you see. You usually pay about 20-30 bucks for them, but I don’t mind, because they last forever, and you can get them in super cute styles.
I have a thing for flip flops. I put them on mid-march, and then don’t take them off again until Thanksgiving. I am quite obsessed.
I got so sick of buying the three dollar ones from Old Navy or wherever, and when someone suggested Reefs to me, I was in total heaven. They mold to your foot, and feel like you’re walking on a cloud.
They have a great collection at Sun and Ski Sports in the Grapevine Mills Mall. I got the black ones with glitter just special for my vacation–they were the ONLY shoes I took.
Reefs… seriously… you will thank me later! haha
