Sunday – Flip-Flops

I truly believe that there is a science to purchasing the perfect pair of flip-flops, but when you find them the chemistry is magical.

It is a close relationship that should last the whole summer.

It is summer love.

Here are my top 5 flip-flop tips for courting new summer footwear:

  1. Walkability.  No matter how cute they are, if you are sprawled out on the ground after tripping, no one is going to say, “cute shoes”.
  2. Comfort.  They should pass the zoo test…would you wear them to the zoo?
  3. Attraction.  It is impossible to fall in love with an ugly shoe.
  4. Cleanability.  If you aren’t going to be able to get cherry Slurpee off them, you shouldn’t be going home with them.
  5. A future.  You don’t want to be shopping again next week because you ended up with a flip-flop one night stand.

So who will I be seen around town with this summer?

Flip Flops

I am a pretty cheap date - Target around $12.

Oh, Holly… you must not know about the awesomeness that is the Reefs.

They are the cadillac of flip flops, you see. You usually pay about 20-30 bucks for them, but I don’t mind, because they last forever, and you can get them in super cute styles.

I have a thing for flip flops. I put them on mid-march, and then don’t take them off again until Thanksgiving. I am quite obsessed.

I got so sick of buying the three dollar ones from Old Navy or wherever, and when someone suggested Reefs to me, I was in total heaven. They mold to your foot, and feel like you’re walking on a cloud.

They have a great collection at Sun and Ski Sports in the Grapevine Mills Mall. I got the black ones with glitter just special for my vacation–they were the ONLY shoes I took.

Reefs… seriously… you will thank me later! haha
